The West Coast is the gateway to Tasmania's wilderness. Coastal populations include Strahan, situated on Macquarie Harbour, and the picturesque shack sites of Granville Harbour and Trial Harbour. The inland population centres of Queenstown, Zeehan, Tullah and Rosebery and the small historic townships of Gormanston and Linda are all within a short distance from magnificent lakes, rivers, rainforests, dunes and historic sites.

Macquarie Heads Vacant Camps Ballot

Council is pleased to announce that we are holding a ballot to fill the current vacant sites at the Macquarie Heads Campground facility. Applications are now open and will close on Friday 14 June.

West Coast Brand Number 1

The West Coast Brand has been given the top spot in the BrandNew Annual Review Best of 2018.


As part of Councils 2019-2020 Capital Works Program, stormwater works will commence in Hurst Street Zeehan , opposite Zeehan Bush Camp on Tuesday 24th September, works are expected to take 2-3 weeks to complete weather permitting.
Please adhere to the traffic management that will be in place during this time for the safety of staff and public.
